We Welcome All Families
No matter where your family is on life’s journey, your family is welcome here
Virginia-Highland Church is dedicated to welcoming all, and that includes children of all ages and from all types of families.
Our youth programs are guided by Jocelyn Wildhack, our Director of Children’s Ministry. Learn more about Jocelyn here.
On a Sunday morning, we offer a fully staffed nursery from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 a.m. Our nursery is located straight through the doors to the right of the front of the sanctuary, and is the second door on your left. The childcare staff will welcome you and your children at the door there. Not sure how to find our nursery? Ask any greeter at the front door and they’ll be happy to guide you.
Children in Kindergarten and up are encouraged to stay and participate in worship! We provide Worship Engagement Bags for their time in worship – complete with coloring sheets that match the scriptures and items to play with as they pray and sing! Following the scripture readings, children are invited to follow the Children’s Ministry Teachers through the doors to the right of the front of the sanctuary for some age-appropriate bible exploration during the sermon. Children will return to the sanctuary before Communion, so that they may partake with their families.
Alongside the Lenten small group on Sunday afternoons, Jocelyn will be leading children’s programming on Bible Basics. If you’re interested in joining the adult group and connecting your children with Jocelyn, email her at [email protected]!
We believe the Children’s Ministry at Virginia-Highland Church is an integral part of how we Do Justice, Love Mercy, and Walk Humbly.
