Atlanta Community Food Bank Hunger Walk/Run

Events > 2017 > March > Atlanta Community Food Bank Hunger Walk/Run

About this event:

Lent begins, of course, with Ash Wednesday, which is March 1. On Mardi Gras Sunday, February 26, we will pass out a list of simple daily activities for you to do that highlight our commitment to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God, as well as group outings or activities for each Sunday during this penitential season.

Our first activity will be the Atlanta Community Food Bank’s Hunger Walk/Run on Sunday, March 5, at 2 p.m., which generates funds for the food bank and other local nonprofits that operate and support food pantries, community kitchens, shelters, and other programs for people in need of food assistance. Virginia-Highland Church will participate as a team, and you may register HERE. Search for team name “Virginia-Highland Church.” You can choose to be a runner ($35) or a walker ($25), and this run serves as a qualifier for the Peachtree Road Race. This is a great way to get your daily steps and concretely help those experiencing hunger.

Questions? Rev. Claudia Aguilar Rubalcava.
