Four years ago, our church embarked on an initial round of building repairs. There is still work to be done in a building as old as ours but the major project still on our list is to make the building accessible to everyone.

This is important because it reflect our values and is an expression of who we are as a church.

To do that we must:

  • Repair the plaza in front of the building.
  • Create a better ramp that meets code.
  • Install a lift.
  • Create accessible restrooms that are also gender-neutral.
  • Create sanctuary space appropriate for wheelchairs.
  • Purchase a hearing assistance system.

In order to make the building accessible to all people we need to raise $110,000. To do that will require everyone who values our commitment to radical inclusion to do their part.

We are asking everyone to make a pledge to this project. You can spread your pledge out over 12, 24, or 36 months. We can borrow the money up front but without your generosity we will not be able to make the payments without reducing the ministry of the church.

Reynolds, BlancheWe are excited to honor Miss Blanche Reynolds and her sister Dorothy by rebuilding the plaza in front of our church and naming it for them, in particular Blanche’s nearly one century of membership in this church.

The broken concrete, uneven steps, missing handrails, etc., make getting into our building a hazard for everyone, but particularly for those with mobility issues. Under our proposed plan, the plaza will be restored in honor of Blanche and Dorothy Reynolds in honor of their incredible work and dedication to our church. We hope the space will serve as a point of pride in our neighborhood.

Your support of this effort makes this possible.
